Cut Down On Battery Use With Nintendo Wii Controller Chargers
The Nintendo Wii video game system is great, but does have several drawbacks, the biggest of which is the amount of batteries it goes through. Being a wireless remote, you can't plug it into the wall. Since it's constantly transmitting information from the air and from your motions to the game console and sensor bar, it drains batteries a lot quicker than a standard television remote control. Sadly, there's no way to plug a "Wii-mote" into a wall socket. But you can use a Nintendo Wii controller charger.
Not Made By Nintendo
Although they are made by electronics companies other than Nintendo, a Nintendo Wii controller charger is legal to get and works with one charger at a time. It looks a lot like a small plastic display stand for your remote control. These Nintendo Wii controller chargers are then plugged into the USB socket on your computer and that's where it gets the energy to recharge your Wii-motes.
Companies that make Nintendo Wii controller chargers are Thanko (a Japanese electronics company) and Nyko (another Japanese electronics company). Nyko's Nintendo Wii controller charger also includes rechargeable battery sets. There is also another company called Penguin United that makes a Nintendo Wii controller charger. There are also models out by Joytech and Sanyo (you might have heard of them).

No matter which one you decide upon, you are only going to have to shell out about $40 (US), a fraction of what you would pay for a couple of month's worth of disposable batteries. Fewer batteries to dump in the trash means less space filled up in rapidly-diminishing landfills, so a Nintendo Wii controller charger is a must for Wii fans that also care about the environment.

When you are shopping for a Nintendo Wii controller charger, you want to be sure that all of your Wii-motes will fit in the charger. Not all Wii-motes can play all Wii games. For example, the Nintendo Wii nunchuck controller won’t work on Wii car racing games. you need a Wii Wheel for them.
If you decide to get a Nintendo Wii controller charger off of eBay, realize that you might not be getting the bargain you think that you are. Before you bid, ask the seller if the directions are included. There are some electronics stores that sell their surplus stock on eBay, but they can be hard to find.
